Performance Review

April 2020

It's been a very different start to the season than usual, but thankfully everything is ticking along nicely here at Rathbride Stables. Everyone is looking forward to getting the ball rolling again when racing returns from lockdown.

The horses who are fit and ready are being kept ticking over until that time comes, while the break will give a chance for some others to come forward for later in the year. Hopefully we should be all systems go once the green light comes.

Our staff are doing a great job in adhering to social distancing measures and overall restrictions in terms of Covid-19. They've been very responsible in keeping two metres apart and thankfully everything has gone smoothly in that regard.

Understandably enough, the mood around the yard is a bit subdued at the minute with the overall situation that's going on around us all. We're all itching to get going whenever it's deemed appropriate, but it's tricky for everyone not knowing when exactly we'll get to run.

Staff adhering to social distancing measures, keeping things ticking along

We do have plenty to look forward to on the other side of all this, though. The team is shaping up really well, with some nice unraced maidens to run, as well as a few lovely three-year-old fillies like Epona Plays, Innervisions and Musical Rue, who all ran well without getting off the mark last season.

We're obviously looking forward to seeing Up Helly Aa back on track as a four-year-old too, having had a good season for the Niarchos family last year.

Everyone here at Rathbride Stables is doing their bit to ensure we're 100 per cent ready to have another good campaign, so hopefully everything continues in the right direction.

On behalf of Amanda and I, thanks for taking the time to check in with us during what is a difficult time for everyone. We hope you and yours stay healthy and well - fingers crossed it won't be too long before we're all back enjoying a day at the races.
